Cannot install DESlock+ due to ESET Secure Data

You see the following error when attempting to install DESlock+.

Secure Data is already installed

Setup has detected ESET Secure Data is installed. DESlock+ cannot be installed at the same time as ESET Secure Data.


You cannot install DESlock+ on the same machine where ESET Secure Data (a feature of ESET Smart Security Premium) is already installed.


Note: You should ensure that you have decrypted any data that was encrypted utilising ESET Secure Data, as you will not be able to access it after following the steps below.

  • Fully remove ESET Smart Security Premium from the machine before performing the DESlock+ installation again. Please contact ESET support if you require assistance in removing ESET Secure Data.
  • Once DESlock has been installed you will be able to re-install ESET Smart Security Premium.

Note: You will not be able to re-enable Secure Data after DESlock+ has been installed.
