How do I decrypt a memory stick or external disk?

Important: If the removable media is encrypted using the File Mode Encryption, then removing the encryption will Delete the contents of the encrypted folder permanently. Therefore it is critical that you remove important data from the encrypted folder you require before removing the encryption.

 

Full Disk Mode

  • Right click on the ESET Endpoint Encryption icon in the Notification Area.
  • Select the Removable Media Encryption from the menu.

  • Select the device to remove encryption from in the list of disks.
  • Click the Decrypt button.

  • Click Yes to the confirmation that you wish to decrypt the drive.

  • Once the operation has completed click OK to the completion notification.

File Mode

  • Right click on the ESET Endpoint Encryption icon in the Notification Area.
  • Select the Removable Media Encryption from the menu.

  • Select the device to remove encryption from in the list of disks.
  • Click the Decrypt button.

  • Click Yes to the confirmation that the encrypted data will be Deleted.

Important: Ensure important documents have been backed up.

  • Once the operation has completed click OK to the completion notification.
